Baby Can’t Eat Airline Food
By Terri M.
When my oldest child was 3 months old we had to travel to the United States from Germany, where she was born. We traveled by plane from Berlin to Frankfort before going on to New York. While we were in Frankfort we were delayed several hours due to maintenance on the aircraft. All of the passengers were pretty much imprisoned in a small waiting area inside of the secure portion of the terminal. We were not allowed to leave that area because our bags were already on the plane and there was no security check point to re-clear us for boarding.
I was not the only mother with an infant among the passengers, but I was apparently the only one that was breastfeeding exclusively. As the time wore on, a few of the other parents were becoming nearly frantic because they were desperately low on formula and we still had a 6 or 7 hour flight ahead of us.
How thankful I was that my baby would not go hungry no matter how long we were stuck in that airport or on the plane!

I’ve traveled with a baby who was 6 months and basically an exclusive breast feeder. I’ve never had something as dramatic as your traveling experience, but even still, how easy it was for me to have all the milk we needed at the perfect temperature wherever we went, whenever he was hungry!
