About Me

My name is Jessica Solomon. I am a breastfeeding advocate, filmmaker, and researcher.
While I am not a certified lactation educator or consultant, I believe that having birthed and successfully breastfed my five children over the last eight years qualifies me as a “certified mom.” Those are my “credentials.” And I enjoy using them to help other mothers when I can.
Because many women lack confidence in their ability to breastfeed, have problems with breastfeeding techniques and gadgets, and often lack individualized encouragement to breastfeed, I created this blog, a newsletter, and a unique breastfeeding video called Breastfeeding: Mother-to-Mother. It is my hope and desire that through those mediums I can help some of those women have a successful breastfeeding experience.
When it comes to breastfeeding, it is my fervent belief that women should be empowered through encouragement, education, and the sharing of experiences mother-to-mother. And when seeking guidance from professional lactation educators, consultants, and organizations, women should not surrender their power or intuition to the credentials of another.
