Medela Sleep Nursing Bra

The reviews on the Medela Sleep Nursing Bra sound so good that I want one to try out ASAP. What appeals to me about this bra is that it has no clasps to mess with, a sturdy sport-bra-style back, and it’s thin, soft and stretchy.

If I’m going to sleep in a bra (and I’ve never found one I could love to wear at night before), I don’t want to be hooking and unhooking stupid doo-dads. And night is the most important time of day to nurse, between the hours of 1 and 5 in the morning. I just want to pull my shirt or bra aside, flop out a breast and be done with it.

Plus, I don’t like going without support at night, because my boobs just flop all over the place and it gets uncomfortable. Some people claim a night bra helps keep breasts from sagging. I don’t know about that, but as far as comfort goes, a soft supportive bra would make sleep a lot more pleasant. Plus, something to hold them in place makes it easier to latch a baby on. Seriously. I’ve had a baby throw a fit over a boob that kept slipping away. You wouldn’t have wanted to be a sleepy fly on the wall for one of those nights!

And if it’s as comfortable as it sounds, I might want it for more than just bedtime.

But I’d have to say that I wouldn’t put it in the dryer because it is 5% spandex, and spandex doesn’t hold up well under all that heat. I also wouldn’t want to wear it during the day if I had very large breasts. Lucky for me, mine are small – most of the time. Floppy, but small.
